Meet Our

Teaching Team

Our teaching team is composed of experienced professionals, trained to guide your child's development and education. To maintain a high level of professionalism, our center provides regular, ongoing training for our teachers. Our team of teachers plans your child's day of educational learning and play.

Our team teachers and team leaders assist your child to become familiar with people throughout the day. The ratio of teachers to children meets the licensing requirements of the state. Your child will benefit from our low ratios, enabling relational interactions to occur in a small group setting.
(classroom size allows 8 children, and 1 teacher)

As parents, you may get involved as you desire. However, no matter what your involvement level, you can look forward to regular conversations and conferences with your child's teachers and our director.

Our Programs

Snack and Lunch

Parents are asked to please provide a well-balanced lunch. Our center will provide 100% milk once your child is ready. We provide am/pm snacks along with 100% juice.
More information given upon request.

Toddler Nap Time

Once your child reaches the age of one year and above they will nap from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Toddler Option

Our Toddler program is organized into small group sized classes that facilitate warm, secure relationships between the caregiver and child. Our Center offers sensitive care and strives to build open and regular communication with parents.

Daily Activities:

The majority of the day is planned around the crucial, but important, scheduled meal times, diapering, comforting and sleeping. These routines are used by the teacher for interaction, learning, and language development. Ongoing study and research reveals that children develop an attachment to their primary teacher, such as the one developed between the mother and infant. This provides the trust they need to explore, play, and communicate, enhancing their growth and development. Our program is uniquely designed to enable children to bond with the same teachers during their early years.

Through close observation, the teacher's will identify each child's unique personality and abilities. Regular documentation by the teachers will help reveal the child's likes and dislikes, such as the child who enjoys being rocked to sleep, who needs to be encouraged to sit up, etc. Use of daily documentation is a tool for determining changes in the child's habits.

When working with infants and toddlers, it's necessary to have a flexible schedule along with some predictability. Once structure is achieved, the teacher will provide one or more special activities daily. The children are provided with many choices that will vary. Our team of teachers will follow a monthly theme, broken down bi-weekly, to enhance the children's daily activities.

Talking, singing, and reading are very important activities that support language development. Children of all ages love books- even babies! Brain research reveals that one of the most important things we can do for infants is read to them daily.

Preschool Director

Mrs. Alexis
(Ages 6 weeks to 5 years)

Hello, my name is Mrs. Alexis. I've been working in Early Childhood Education since 2004. I have experience in a variety of different school programs, settings and ages. My ability to adapt to many age groups, while meeting each child's individual needs, plays a huge role in my experience to lead a team of teachers. I help guide our team to implement a creative, adaptable curriculum program, using State Standards and Common Core teaching strategies. I am happily married to Mr. Jacob. Together we have a beautiful son. We are members of La Habra Christian Church and are involved in children's ministry.  My family truly believes in sharing the love of Jesus with our youngest generation.

The Learning Center

Our Center is designed to provide a support system for children and parents.

Our Center's atmosphere of love and acceptance will enhance the self-esteem and health of the child, as well as the parent. The Pastors, administration, and team of teachers respect all children regardless of ethnic, cultural, or linguistic backgrounds.

Program Goals

Each child is recognized as an individual child of God with potential and ability. We offer a warm and caring environment combined with a well-trained team of teachers. They are highly educated in the social, emotional, physical, and language development of children.

It is our goal to:

  • Provide a stimulating environment where your child will grow intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally.

  • Provide an opportunity for parents to broaden their parenting skills through interaction with staff and members.

  • Provide a vocational education site where students may practice their skills with the assistance of church staff.

  • Provide an engaging atmosphere, enabling students, parents, and/or working parents who desire to pursue their educational and career goals.

Get Involved

Parent Involvement

It is important that a good relationship is established with the parent, child, and team of teachers. This begins with the first conversation concerning enrolment. In this meeting, the program, family values, expectations and other concerns are discussed. During the interview, parents are given the opportunity to set goals for their child and provide our educators with critical information regarding their child's development. You, as parents, can also help the caregiver understand your child's cultural and ethnic background. By communicating with our teaching team any special needs or circumstances that your child experiences at home, we will be better equipped to assist the child with his/her transition and better adapt to our Center. Parents are encouraged to visit the Center at any time without prior notice.

Our Center is a non-profit organization that relies on parents to periodically volunteer with special events, such as fundraising. We plan three fundraising events per year.
